Saat dimana pemenuhan kebutuhan harian hanya dapat diperoleh menggunakan uang, hampir tak menyisakan ruang bagi hasrat untuk saling berbagi. Uang dengan fungsi awalnya sebagai alat untuk mempermudah pertukaran, kini berbalik menjadi sesuatu yang menghambat kita untuk memenuhi kebutuhan. Kita tidak membicarakan orang kaya, namun bagi kita yang tak bisa disebut sebagai orang yang berpunya, itu menjadi kendala bukan? Tapi bukankah masih ada cara untuk meminimalisir ketergantungan kita pada secarik kertas atau koin dengan angka nominal tertentu untuk mendapatkan apa yang kita butuhkan? Dengan cara menukarkan apa yang kita punya tapi tak lagi ada fungsinya bagi kita dengan apa yang sahabat kita punya dan kita butuhkan misalnya.

Ya... tidak ada yang salah dengan berbagi kelebihan kita dan mengambil apa yang kita butuhkan. Toh barang berlebih yang kamu punya tapi tak berguna juga hanya membuat kamar atau gudang kamu penuh sesak. Bisa saja kawan kita lebih membutuhkan pena dari sahabat kamu yang bahkan jarang menulis. Sahabat kamu yang baru kemarin kehilangan pacarnya, mungkin lebih membutuhkan buku jurnal yang kamu bikin sendiri untuk menyalurkan kegalauannya

Atas dasar inilah ide ini muncul. Bisa saja kamu sebut ini sistem barter, walau itu kurang tepat, karena kamu bisa mengambil sesuatu tanpa menukarnya jika kamu membutuhkan tapi tak punya apapun untuk ditukarkan. Namai sesukamu. Tapi jangan sebut ini sumbangan, donasi, atau apapun yang hanya akan menciptakan jarak diantara kita. Apakah kita telah melupakan tradisi saling berbagi antar teman? Tidakkah itu cukup menyenangkan? Lagipula itu dapat mempererat pertemanan kita. Bukankah berbagi itu indah?
